some photos would help. Also makes trying to describe it easier. My first thought is either shed or scale rot but without photos cant say either way im afraid. |

Yes, I was thinking scale rot, but if you can give us a bit more info we'll be better able to help. |

If it is scale rot, its best not to leave it to long before getting it looked at it will only get worse without any treatment. That is if it is scale rot. |

There is a possibility that it's some bits of retained shed, in which case you could try soaking him in some warm water, or you could use Shed-Ease. But if it's scale rot that wouldn't help, so best to get a diagnosis asap. Do you have a vet or good reptile shop near you that could have a look at him? |

Just to add to that, Matt Brash is no longer at the Battle Flatts practice, he has gone off to be full-time zoo vet at Flamingo Land apparently! They have a new guy now who I saw recently and seems very knowledgable, although I can't remember his name...
It is a bit of a worry that it's been two months since your original post, and the problem is still there. I don't want to sound critical, but you really do need to get this seen to as soon as possible. Has it got worse or stayed the same? Whereabouts in the UK are you so we can possibly suggest a vet? |
