I was just wondering if anyone had experienced problems with a hoggy that turned aggressive when it had been docile and friendly before? Bob has done just that - he was really good to handle and he settled in really quickly. But just over the last couple of months, he seems not to want to play anymore, he flinches when I touch him, and he has started trying to bite me. He has succeeded a couple of times when I haven't been quick enough!

I'm a bit worried about him, is it possible he is unwell or in pain, and he doesn't want to be touched because of that? He's eating fine and seems perky enough when he's roaming around is his viv. He has no signs of dullness in his skin or eyes and he isn't losing weight.

My male goes through stages of being a proper little softie for a few weeks, then a few weeks of being like a little possessed snake.
I just put it down to hoggie temperament, they have a bit of a reputation for being moody little things.

Yeah, I wasn't sure because my other hoggy is a complete softy and only ever opens his mouth to put food in it. But then I've had him since he was a hatchling, and Bob was already an adult when I got him, so perhaps he's just not as used to being a pet?
