So far this season I've had 1 failed tri colour egg, 28 infertile western eggs from my 800gm female, 5 red eggs that are failing, laid last wk with some still in female so injection of oxcytocin given last night with another tonight if needed.
Went home for 1Bat Royal Irish Reg homecoming parade, daughters bfriends are Rangers, stayed an extra day to catch up with the boys only to get home to a clutch of albino eggs shrivelling up! Have put them in the incubator with signs of at least 1 reflating and growing, maybe another 2 giving it a go, thankfully the rest were infertile so not tooo upset. Have to say I did tell the lads they thought Afghan and terry Taliban was scarey............ nothing compared to me re lost eggs lmao.
Upside, red albino's, albino, greens and couple of interesting patterns all gravid with Tri colour laying this morning so keep everything crossed we're done with the bs of the season lol. |

Things haven't improved much as I've lost the red female, she never laid those eggs despite aspiration and more oxcytocin. Sometimes they're just the wrong size/shape for them to lay it would seem, maidens can be a nightmare at times, tis nature but heartbreaking when they fail so badly.
Red albino has done her prelay shed, took 2 large mice last night so shouldn't have an energy issue at least, just won't be happy till they've all laid and come out the other end healthy. |

I am so sorry to hear about your red female. How are the eggs that she laid doing?
Fingers crossed for the red albino, it's time your luck improved |

Red's eggs have failed, tri coloureds are going the same way, just got 6 left a couple albino's and my unknowns mother x son mating. Albino's shed today and took 2 mice last night so she should lay her 2nd clutch soon, along with my 2 large females getting ready to lay 2nd clutch.
Red albino's pounding 2 large mice every 3 - 4 days so here's hoping she's finally caught, green het albino still isn't showing much sign so male might go back in there, got another 2 females looking promising. Oh and had 5 infertile eggs from a little 130 gm girl who's never been with a male bless her but a worry with one so young and small but she passed them ok just hope she doesn't do a double clutch. All too stressful lol.
At least last yr my losses were due to power cuts, seems so cruel this yr, nature is what it is survival of the fittest with or without vet intervention - I just feel so guilty. |

I'm so sorry to hear you are having such rotten luck with your eggs this year. I really hope that things will turn around and you can have some healthy babies and that all mums get through ok
