Has anyone ever kept one of these Hognoses? We were talking about them at the rep night in York the other day, they can reach 9ft apparently!
They sound interesting things and would be very different to keep than the little Western Hognoses most of us on here have.
I quite like the sound of these!  |

I keep a pair of Giants, which are currently being cycled to hopefully breed in a few weeks time.
As for growing to 9 feet, that is a huge exaggeration! Around 5-6 feet is more realisistic. Being called "giant" is a bit of a misnomer, as the other two species, modestus and grayi, are also of a similar size.
They are a great snake to work with, but the venom is, apparantly, quite toxic. |

| Yes, I have a pair of westerns, hatchlings which I bred last year. Unfortunately, the mother died, so it will be a couple of years before I can breed them again. Depending on what happens with the giants, I will be looking to get a pair of L. modestus and L. grayi. |

Great snakes!
Really pretty, but I see what everyone says about them not having much of a hognose. They make up for it in bright patternings though  |
