Aww Thank you :)
He ate a large mouse tail yesterday :) He was assist fed by a local breeder at a local reptile store. He seemed to think he is very young indeed and not sure if he fed but anyhow. Amazed he took it. Basically put the tail 3/4 down his throat and he kinda ran about a bit with it hanging out then finally swallowed it down. So proud of him. Hope his digestion kicks in now and I can continue to offer pinks.
I was so worried. It would have been 10 weeks today without food that I know of and he was starting to loose weight. He's quite thin now too but hopefully we are making progress :) Thanks for your continued help and support. Amazed how attached I've become to the little guy. |

Awww that's good news. Hope he continues to eat now. I've been following this, as have had a non eater for nearly 9 weeks. Although she was bigger still a worrying time!! I eventually got mine to eat by scenting with sardine. Left sardine in her tank next to pinkie and she ate that too lol!! I was amazed!?
Really hope little guy continues on his own for you now

Oh, that's great- I'm so pleased he's got some protein in him.
To be honest, when you said how small he was, it made me wonder if he was sold to you too young. They are supposed to have started feeding on their own before they are sold on, but it sounds as if this might not have happened with your guy.
But anyway, you can keep trying now, and you can always take him to be fed again by this local breeder if you need to. |

I still cant get him to eat anything. Also tried Mackerel, Sardines, Egg White. Trying Chicken soup next then red tinned salmon. He will be going for another tail this weekend. He's just about hanging in there, he isnt moving from 6.4g, weigh him every 3 weeks now to not upset him too much. Here the lil guy is at his last weigh in.
Teasing me with his pinkies and fish... Would love to see him eat

Just looking at that picture, perhaps the pinkie is too big for him. Have you tried cutting one in half and offering him the head? (Cut it in half whil it's still frozen to avoid too much mess!) |

Yes it was another assist feed. It looks like ill have to take him down weekly until he gets going. Alternatively I might ask if I can pay and they just take him for a couple of weeks until he gets going. Persisting :) Saw another Hognose at weekend but as he won't eat I can't bring myself to getting anymore just yet. Love the little guy so much, really hope I'm not upsetting him too much, just trying to save him. Look where I found him this morning bless :)

Aww, he's a cutie I really would recommend trying a half pinkie before his next assisted feed is due - you might be surprised, and it would be great if he started feeding of his own accord. |

Thank you, and thanks for your continued interest with him. I've just took a pink out of the freezer and cut it in half. I'll pop it in before I go to bed and keep my fingers crossed :) |
