what does every1 keep the hoggies in??

Uh, vivs aren't necessary as they don't grow huge.
Only 3-4FT. So, a RUB would do :)!

What substrate have you got him on?

we have him on aspen. He seems to like it, burrowing around making lots of little tunnles.

Ours are in 35 litre and 9 litre RUBs for now.

Substate is aspen and we have put in a sand pit at the cool end. They love to play in the sand.

Yeah it's nice to give them the extra stimulation and they really seem to enjoy it. Some days they spend hours just digging and tunneling around in it

What sand do you use? Is the sand on a special tub or on the bare RUB?

Hi

I use UniPac sand (i also use this in my fish tanks) it costs about £3 for 2.5kg or £20 for 25kg.

Billys sandpit is just a 0.9 liter RUB with the lid off.

Hollys is just the bottom half of an A4 tub I picked up from a craft shop.

I glued plastic coke bottle tops to the bottom so they can burrow undernieth without having to worry about the wieght of the sand crushing them.

If you do this make sure you put it at the cool end especially if you use a heat mat.

When we finally get our vivs sorted I'm just gona fix in a wooden divider and make on 3rd of the viv sand and the rest aspen.

Our Holly is actually toilet trained...lol. Since introducing the sand pit its become the only place she'll go.

Guess for a snake there's newt like ****ing in the sand...lol

I keep mine in a rack system over the winter mths in various sized RUB's or Contico boxes depending on their sizesubstrate is wood chips, or kitchen roll for the babies.

In the summer mths I use Viv's downstairs in the lounge where I can enjoy their antics in the late afternoon - find I miss lots of interesting stuff on the TV when they start lol. Adults are in 3ft x 15 x 2ft 2 viv stack whilst the babies are in 2 x 5 viv stack of about 18 x 18 x 1ft, have to use stoppers on the smaller viv's to cut off their escape routes, had a het albino female and my gloydi male do a runner this year!
