Got to get these big 5ft x 2 x 2 fts converted before next spring, can't sell them so change them to keep my breeders in for the season.

I'm extremely envious!!What sort of fronts / access do you use for these Mandie... reason I'm asking is that I am looking to do a conversion of an old piece of furniture from Ikea into a viv stack, so am interested in all aspects of build at present... J |

AT present its just wooden runners built onto the base which takes up more room than your usual black glass runners but as I wanted a feature piece of furniture (tis in my lounge lol) and have problems with motor control of my hands this was a nice compromise.
Trouble is for hognose its just not going to work once each viv in the stack has been split into 3 smaller viv's, and I'd be moving the middle doors everytime I wanted to get into the viv on the right end, can be sure a hognose male would hitch a ride to go visit a different female next door lol.
So hopefully my friend will change them to the more standard black glass runners and doors - shame as I do like it this way. These are my summer accommodation at present they're all in RUBs in the racks in spare bedroom so take up a lot less room that way. The adults are cooling down for brumation whilst the youngsters are maintained at a slightly lower temp but feeding is continued.
This is the base rack that housed 9 adult royals prior to me starting on hognose proper.
This is the hatchling/juvie rack that sits on top of the other now that its used for hognose.

| Not as much as I'd like believe me lol I have 4 shelves of that juvie rack full at present with the remaining babies from this year as well as adults. Am hoping once the morphs get going to have lots more with the whole spare bedroom or even cellar full of them -------- not that I'm greedy just an addict lol. |

Here's our hoggie Zeke's viv:

This is a 10-gallon glass tank with screen top with walnut shell substrate (looks and feels like sand but holds humidity better). It is heated on one side by an under-tank-heater and an adjustable ceramic heat lamp. The lamp is on a timer and is on a 12-hour on/off cycle. The water dish in the middle is half-way on the UTH to keep the humidity at 50%.
My husband and I had a little misunderstanding on which snake to get. I thought we were getting the baby hoggie from a Texas breeder so I got the 10-gallon set up. But, he ended up picking out the 1+ year old hoggie at the petstore. I should have gotten the 20-gallon but I didn't want to re-acclimate him too soon, so we'll stay with the 10-gallon for 3 months or so before switching it up to the 20. |
