hi guys
Im just cleaning out my hoggie, hes about 16 weeks old and was fed last thursday (according to the shop). Anyway, he did a poo on tuesday when i got him, and hes done one this afternoon and there's a very faint trace of blood on the kitchen roll (Im quarantining him at the moment). It's not a huge amount, it can only have been about one drop, but obviously seeing blood im quite worried. Anyway, I was wondering if this sometimes happens or if it's cause for concern. Thanks |

yeah I definately am going to, Im possibly going to keep him on kitchen roll until he next goes. Im feeding him tomorrow so I'll see how he goes on. He was probed on tuesday so I wondered if possibly thats done a bit of damage and its bled a little bit. Other than the blood though hes acting fine and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with him so I'm hoping it's just a one off thing |

It looked like he did it ok, but he did keep repeatedly probing which i thought was a bit odd (I could tell it was a male before he could, just by looking at the tail). Its just a bit odd that it hasn't bled till now. Who knows whats wrong with him....I feel like an over worried parent haha! |

I think that you should get a poo sample done too - it may be a probing injury, but it could also be internal parasites and they will need to be sorted if so.
Kitchen roll is a good substrate for keeping an eye on things
Any update? |

well, he still hadnt eaten the rat this morning so I went into town to get him some pinkies, came back and he'd had a poo and there was no blood at all which is really promising! now if only he'd eat something...... :D |

woke up this morning and the pinkie was gone! so, either hes an expert at hiding things, or he's fed! he's very active to say hes just eaten though! |
