so we have been dealing with mites off and on for the past few months and finally got it under control, however my husband has observed on numerous occasions that only the carpet pythons and boas in our main snake room ever had them, and that none of the hoggies ever had a problem with the mites. Are they naturally resistant to mites, possibly due to the scale shape or some other factor that makes them less appealing? Has anyone else noticed this who may have dealt with mites at some point?
Just curious.

Interesting question, and I really don't know the answer. The scales on hoggies are keeled and generally rougher than those you get on other snakes, but I would have thought that mites would be too small for that to make a difference.
Has anyone here ever had mites on their hoggies??
