coral sand and beach chips mix is what i have in his viv at the moment, this seams 2 b his fav substrate so far - hes always routin anround n digin about, happy as a hog could be! :D its abit harder 2 spot clean but its worth it.
still tryin 2 find out about planted vivs for hognoses,any1 wif any experience with them r can giv me sum tip's plz do!
That's awesome. Great pics :) My little fella loves to dig, he's in quite deep aspen at the min, might change to sand as he gets bigger. Loves burrowing!

im going to try 50% eco earth 50% sand and see how he likes that. has anyone used ecoearth with their hognoses? any advice?........ps i dont feed my hognose inside his viv! you here alot of talk about dont use sand! never use sand!....but the only real fault with sand is impactions, which can be easily avoided by simply feeding your snake outside of his viv otherwise i think it is a really good substrate for hognose snakes. oh and i wouldnt use anything 2 fine like the desert sands or anything like that.
