I have a rather decent sized female hognose who produced the biggest hoggie eggs I've ever seen, but only 10 of them with 3 needing needle aspiration due to their size, poor girl just couldn't pass them.
Of the 7 she managed to pass unaided 5 were good with 4 hatching, the 5th had a fully grown baby in there who'd split the egg but never absorbed the yolk and attempted to climb out of the egg with an open mouth resulting in bottom jaw in whilst top was outside the shell! Incubated at 83 for 47 days so was very happy with the results. The 4 sucessful babies were between 12 and 17gms at hatching a couple waited almost 3 wks to feed, the 3 males didn't even bother to shed for 15 days thought them extremely lazy boys lol.
I'd love to breed hoggys in the future, but concentrating on the corns this year. Then I think Lewy wants to breed Nagini (the Mexican Black King), so it might be a few years before I get some hoggy babies. Good job Wilbur is only a little 'un, got a few years before he's big anyway.
The time passes so quickly he'll be ready before you know it then he'll start looking for a woman lol. They take up so little room you can do both lol.
