Hey! Just joined because this site seems like a nice friendly source of information and advice :)

I've kept reptiles since I was 11, and have had a variety of species since then. I sadly had to rehome them all 4 or 5 years ago due to a lack of space and finances. However over the last 2 years I've started keeping reptiles again, and I currently have a Western Hognose, a Columbian Red Tail Boa, and a Royal Python.

I was wondering if 16" for a 2 year old female Hognose, and 24" for an 8-9 month old male Red Tail Boa was within the boundaries of 'normal'? They're both reliable feeders and well fed. And are kept in apropriate housing with optimal humidity and temperature etc.

Cheers,

-Chris, UK

Hello! I don't know about the boa, but your hoggy sounds fine. I think that as long as she's feeding well and seems healthy, it doesn't really matter what size she is. You sound like you have plenty of snake experience, so I'm sure you'll know if there's anything amiss anyway.
