Hello... I know it's difficult to give ideal weights for hoggies, but I was just wondering if I was going the right way with mine. He is 21 months old, about 1ft long, and weighs 80g. Being a male, he is quite slim but he does eat most times when I offer food, except for when he has his winter sulk. Does he sound like he's a healthy weight, and if not, are there any supplements I could be giving him to improve his condition? Cheers. |

Sounds alright to me - thing with hoggies is that some (usually females) shoot up and grow really rapidly and others don't. I've seen yearlings that are massive in comparrison to my two year old.
Just as long as he's healthy and eating I wouldn't worry too much about his growth. |

Yeah, he does seem to eat OK. I don't have any other hogs, so I do sometimes worry that he's abnormal or something, but I'm hoping to acquire another one soon so at least I'll have something to compare him with! |
