Hi all, I have a southern hognose from the florida area, USA. She is healthy and fed primarily on a diet of goldfish and american toads. I have had her a couple months and have yet to observe a shedding. I keep humidity high as it is summer and her natural habitat reaches humidities of 60-80%. She has access to a large water dish, rock to rub against, and even a sphagnum filled shed box. Is there anything i can do to encourage the process? Has anyone noticed a need for UV light? she has good color and i have not observed any dulling or milky eyes. please help, im starting to worry about her.
she will be fine with out UV light. as for the shedding i dont know much about southern hoggies but western hoggies only shed about 4 times a year or so. she will shed when she is ready to. how big is she
she's about 6-7 inches. I've been reading the forum and feel a bit more comfortable about it. I was just getting worried since she has not shed since i got her in April.
