my snake doesn't like being handled can someone give me some advise

hi and welcome. how big is it and how long have you had it for. hoggies are not the best snake for handerling but once we know more info we can sugest some things. what sort of set up have you got it in

its about25-30 cm and its got a big water bowl a plant and a log with a rock to hide under

Do you know what the temps are in there? Only reason I ask is because I can't see a thermometer and if the temps aren't correct then that could be causing your snake to be a bit irritable

Hello

I would agree that a light bulb isn't a good heat source as a stand alone. They are good for the day time, but shouldn't be kept on all the time as hoggy's need to distinguish between night and day.

Handling is something you build up over time. Not all snakes like it but they can get used to tollerating it if you handle them regulary enough.

i have 1 male hognose as does kazerella.

my advice is to get a thermometer and a stat if you havent already. by getting the set up correct first it will make the snake happier and maybe more willing to be handled
