Posted - 18/10/2010 : 20:07:32 My hoggie keeps bathing/soaking in his water, and sometimes rubs against my hand when he's up like he itchy... Have look for mites, but there's nothing on him and haven't found any in his water and viv...
Is there mites/parasites out there that can't be seen on hoggies?
He eats and poops as he should... Just wondering about the bathing... |

Posted - 19/10/2010 : 17:04:57 I have double checked him and there's nothing to see... :/ I've also checked the temperature, but it's fine and his cool area stays cool... As you can see in the picture, it's mostly his neck he's bathing... He just shed a week ago, and that went fine, so it shouldn't be that...
Thinking he's probably just enjoying it... Just wanted to hear some others view on the case

Hoggies do sometimes like to bathe if they're too hot, so it's worth checking his temperature just to make sure he's not overheating.
My hoggy rubs his head against my hand too, as if he was trying to burrow through it. I think it's just natural behaviour in a burrowing snake, always on the lookout for something to dig through! |
