hey guys, Im not sure if this post is in the right forum topic, but it sure is weird!

I've noticed tonight that my hoggie keeps open one side of his mouth a little bit, and then the other side, almost like a human would if his jaw was stiff. so he keeps stretching his mouth and then he sticks his tongue out around to the underside of his chin and moves it from one side to the other.

I've never seen this before and wonder if anyone else has or know why hes doing it?

My girlie does it when she can smell (or taste, not sure what the right term is) food, almost as it she is preparing to eat it... when she stopped eating, she did it everytime i put her near some food even though she didn't actually take it. She also always does it after a meal.

yeah, he keeps doing it though which is really strange. it's almost as if his jaw is bothering him. He's in a plastic tub that I feed him in at the moment but I'm going to clean his viv up and put him back in that today and see if he settles down

I've seen my hoggy doing it- but it's usually after a feed.

I would just keep an eye on him to make sure he's not developing a R.I or mouth rot, but he may just have wanted a stretch

I think hoggys don't like being moved about much, so he's probably not eating due to the stress.

to add to the info, I moved him home yesterday which was about a 2 hour drive so hes maybe stressed. theres a fuzzie in with him because hes due to feed but he hasn't touched it, i pressume because hes shaken up from the move. he can close his mouth fully and theres no discharge or anything that would suggest mouth rot. I've only seen him doing it tonight but hes been doing it on and off for about an hour ( that I've seen).
