Just a quick question ... how often are hatchlings meant to shed?

Mia was 3 months old on the 5th of this month and she hasn't shed with us yet, although she's grown ... a lot. We had her on the 13th August.

Was just wondering if this is normal as when we upped our kings food he was shedding like there's no tomorrow.

Vedder has just shed today. His last shed with me was the end of May. He eats like a pig too!

He will soon enough =) I was worried too, but I have learnt they don't shed that often. Thinking back Toki only shed a few times with us and we had him nearly a year.

Mia's all nicely shed and Freddie just had his first shed this week and he's still tiny. Although he didn't eat for four weeks, so understandable!

Mine only shed about 2 or 3 times per year and they seem OK!

Hahaha yeah!
Shes looking really sorry for herself. Her belly's really pale and her eyes are pink, d'aaaww.

I love em when they are blue. Their bellys are amazing and the filthy look you get off them when you disturb them is just comical.

Thanks :):)

Guess what .... she's just gone into blue.

It's as if she sensed me typing and thought "muwahahahaha I'll make her look stupid ... *goes into blue* mwuahaha... damn I can't see... hiss hiss"

I think hoggies shed less frequently than some other snakes. I have just looked at the records for mine and according to them both didnt shed for about 4 months after purchase from the shop. The female was born May2010 bought in Aug2010 and has shed 5 times since. The male was born April2010 bought in July2010 and has shed 4 times since. I bought them in April this year so cant vouch for the accuracy of the records before this.

Don't know if that helps in any way lol
