Posted - 28/06/2009 : 18:52:50 This is a general warning to all on the forum. Can every member make sure they read the thread title of every thread before opening it. There have been a few threads being made that clearly contain viruses. As far as im aware your computer cannot get the virus directly from opening the thread, but by clicking the links listed in th profile of the person that created the thread.
Dont open any threads with stange looking titles with mostly symbols in it such as ,:;()=+-_. Threads that contain viruses often have no actual words in the title.

Hi,
May I suggest you consider using the following applications...
NOD32 Anti Virus (free trial but well worth buying it is the best by far) Outpost Firewall Pro or Tiny Firewall Trend Micro HijackThis (free) DiamondCS ProcessGuard (free) Opera Web Browser (free)

That's my understanding of how it works. You can usually spot them from their profile. Gender shows as a number rather than male or female and most of the time the links have the word "porno" in them. |

Posted - 26/10/2009 : 11:06:42 No, spammers are a ongoing thing. Nearly everytime I log on one of the sites I have one to delete or lock (had one on the rainbow boa this morning)
Lewy has started banning them from the server, but it's a difficult process, especially since most spammers just change their I.P again.
I'll tell Lewy about the software and see what he says. He's the tech man, I'm just the shouty lady |

I actually only noticed the date this thread was started after i made the post so I'm guessing your probs are in the past but if you need it there is some good open resource (free) software the can fool the bots and save you a lot of work.
