Posted - 30/04/2009 : 16:51:02 I'm updating all the home pages for the sites and have done them all except this one (although the Royal and Rainbow aren't up yet, but they are on my memory stick waiting to be uploaded).
Only trouble is I've got two types of home page: The King, the amphibian (and the rainbow boa when up) are in a format of generalised interesting facts about the species as a whole, whilst the corn (and the royal when up) are more lists of the advantages and disadvantages of having them as pets.
The reason for the two types is that corns and royals are pretty much stand alone species. All the facts about them are already on the care sheet, so I thought it wasn't much point repeating myself. Plus the advantages and disadvantages would be appropriate for two snakes that are definitely more commonly 'pet' snakes.
The king, amphibian and rainbow boa got fact lists because their sites include loads of sub-species so a generalised fact list to drawn all the sub-species in together seemed more appropriate.
The question is which type of home page would be best for the hoggy site? The hognose only has one care sheet so most facts are already on there, but I think hoggys are also more specialist than corns and royals so hoggy owners usually already know the ins and outs of having a pet snake before they buy one.
Any Suggestions please |

Posted - 18/05/2009 : 16:40:48 The king has got an interesting facts section. It was the first site to get a new home page
The others should already have interesting facts on their care sheet, but it depends on how interesting they really are I can only write what's true |

The homepage looks good, buy are you trying to say the other snakes arnt interesting by not giving them an "interesting facts" section? |

I've done a home page now. It's not the best but it'll do until I can think of anything better. |

Posted - 05/05/2009 : 20:32:31 How about writing about some of the interesting characteristics we would not normally see in captive bred hoggies, like the death writhe tongue hanging out bit... as well as the more likely to be seen hoodie and viv defensive behaviour etc?? Perhaps you could also put a quick snatch of one of the utube thingies of the 'death writhe'??
Just a though.. and hello again.... got a 'puter up and running again! |
