Posted - 23/02/2012 : 14:23:13 Ok so.... long story short. I got Vedder May last year. I honestly thought he was sexed... cotton wool brain. It wasnt until ravensgirl came over one night, and ased how he was getting on. She has his brother, from the same clutch..not a huge gap in time between them both hatching. Turns out they werent sexed I just thought they were hahaha.
Took Vedder out so she could have a look. Well Vedder is apparently twice the size and girth as his hatchling brother.
I weighed him the other day... hes sitting at 81g. I posted out on FB to friends who have CB11 hoggies... and on weighing the majority of them who have CB11s (hatched at about roughly the same time of year) theirs are weighing about 40g tops.
Sooo, curiosity has gotten the better of me and when thistlereptiles deliver my frozen/live foods tomorrow night, Davy is gonna probe Vedder for me.
Im not planning on breeding Vedder at all. Just interested to see. Poor wee mite may have spent its whole life with me calling it a boy if it was really a girl!
I will let you know whats what tomorrow night |

Posted - 23/02/2012 : 16:01:41 Hmmm... could be that Vedder is a lady, but perhaps he has just been eating better than his brother. It can make a heck of a difference once they get onto fuzzies, maybe he just took them sooner. I take it he's never done any "boy" stuff, like showing you his hemipenes or leaving little male deposits in his bedding?? |
