Posted - 22/12/2009 : 19:45:07 Clarice is so fickle with her eating habits, sometimes she needs to be in a small dark place and sometimes she will take it out of my hand, to be honest (as long as she is safe) i dont mind if it means she will eat something! Im starting to think 'she' may be 'he'... |

Posted - 29/11/2009 : 19:12:39 I tend to feed my hoggies on my knees or have also been known to take food from my hand (never meant it to happen, they are just a bit faster than me) and they have never had any problems, I think it depends on the snake, if they are comfortable with things then I tend to let them have their own way. |

Posted - 27/11/2009 : 19:46:37 HC... I've never fed him in hand before, and nothing at all changed in his set up etc that I could find to cause him to stop feeding.. he just stopped. He has been fine otherwise.
He did not seem at all phased by being fed in hand, and he went straight back into his viv afterward. I am aware of the issues regarding not handling after feeding, and I have done a fair amount of research on all of my animals prior to obtaining them. He has come out and has been roving round his viv as he usually does since feeding, so to be honest, I am not overly concerned.
Also, when you are offering criticisms, it would be helpful to say a little bit about why you state what you do rather than just 'Never do' and 'Dont', otherwise there will be no learning, just defensive reaction. This way, comments are more likely to be construed in a 'critical friend' role, rather than someone 'telling' us what we should and shouldn't do with any reasoning to it. |

No wonder he stopped eating. If proceded like this he wil probably refuse again soon.
