Anyone got any ideas on a good healthy weight for an adult male hoggy? Mines coming up to a foot and 3 quaters, and around 100 grams, doesn't look over weight, but hes still putting on weight! No idea about a good weight for them - for every other snake, lizard and amphib species I have, there is guidline info, but no-one seems to know for hoggies!
Any thoughts anyone?

Posted - 25/07/2011 : 14:59:28 Both of my males are about 3 years old and they're quite small compared to some others - only about 110g each. But they are definitely not underweight, so yours sounds fine.
I wouldn't worry about him getting too fat - hoggies very rarely do, and you might find that he decides to go on hunger strike at some point during his life, so it's a good thing if he has a bit of weight in reserve. |
