Posted - 03/06/2011 : 09:10:39 So Bob managed to get a real mouthful of my finger last night. He held on for about 3 minutes and got his fangs right into my knuckle. My right hand now looks as if I have a baseball mitt on underneath the skin! Just going to go to the medical centre and see if I can get some antihistamines, but I was wondering if anyone else has been bitten by a hoggie for no reason?? It was obviously a feeding response because he held on for ages, but I'd washed my hands just before I picked him up, and I hadn't been handling any food. I feel like I don't trust him now |

Posted - 04/06/2011 : 14:05:00 Ha ha, I didn't really think of taking pics - I was too busy swearing and running my hand under the cold tap. The swelling has settled down a lot now, and sadly no signes of bright red veins yet, although the knuckle nearest the bite has gone purple. I have forgiven Bob but I will be keeping a close eye on him when I handle him from now on. Perhaps he just wanted to be fed! |

Posted - 04/06/2011 : 02:59:47 Wait for a day or 2 and get a good pic of the bright red veins in your hand, that's the only thing I couldn't get a pic of.
As for seemingly biting for no reason I can't answer that, mine only nibbled me because she smelled food on my hands. If it held on for that long, I would assume feeding grip as you said so I would've thought something would've set him off. |
