Well I've had my Hoggie for a week now. She's a lovely little snake, but very huffy and puffy, which I know is natural. However it is a little unsettling. Even whilst spot cleaning or changing water she's hissing and striking. I know that it's rare for them to actually bite, but I can't stop the basic human instinct of pulling my hand away, which seems to annoy her even more lol
Do the calm down as the get used to you, and mature?
Cheer's,

My male has calmed down loads, but still has his little hissy warnings sometimes, quite sweet actually to see him puff his head up and lift up while hissing trying to be a big scary cobra. I just tell him to shut up and then carry on whatever I was doing, he quite quickly realises that it doesn't matter what he does that I'm gonna carry on. |
