I know that most people use aspen or auboise but how would small pieces of shredded paper work? Like using a cross shredder, cause the pieces be quite small so the snake could burrow I should think. Thanks. :)

Just old stuff like letters etc that needs shredding cause we have loads of it, I thought it might be a bit rough but its not, its quite soft.

I sometimes use a type of recycled paper bedding for my snakes and they seem to like it OK, so I can't see why shredded paper would be any different. Some books I've read have an issue with paper that has newsprint because of the toxicity of the inks, but I'm not sure if that's ever been proved. What sort of paper would you use?
