Hi People
I don't know if this has been covered before but what age do hogs become sexually mature I know males reach it before female but at what ages roughly please, I currently have a male about 9 months old and a female about 3 months and I want to seperate them before I have any probs.

Do never put young hognose male en females together
Male hognose are able to breed long befor age of 1 year
Females take a little longer, but its only healty if they are about 200 grams heavy. They are for about 2 - 3 years old by then.

I would say 3 years is an healthy age to breed them, but that doesn't mean they won't try before. I would seperate now just to be on the safe size, especially since they must be a size differnece between them anyway.  |

i am no very sure tbh, my male is a year old and is showing some interest in his future mate, not sure if its sexual maturity or just bein curious. |

Hiya. I'm new to hoggies but I know that with royals, etc it is usually when they pass a certain weight that they are ready. Hope that helps  . |
