Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I can get frozen frogs. We have several Hoggy's and have just taken on a Blonde Hoggy, the problem being its not eaten without assisted feeding for 12 months. Her previous owner tried everything apart from frogs. We live in the UK. Help please. |

Further to my last post, it is also risky feeding just the legs, as you will not be providing all of the nutrients needed. There is also a risk of offering amphibians as food when they are not from the same region as the snake. Very often, the toxins will affect the snake as they do not have the ability tobreak them down. |

Blonde hoggies are Madagascan and a different genus to American hogs. They live a different life style and also take a different range of foods.
Have you tried chicks?
I had a pair of giant hognoses which took rats, apart from the female who totally stopped feeding, and would only take chicks. Eventually she took one chick followed by a rat with a chick laid on top of of it. This was the only way to get sufficient food into her. |

Well you could always try and sell a few on here. People are always having trouble getting hoggies to feed and most owners will try anything once  |

Hi Kaz, Thanks for getting back to me. I've found out more of her history and it now appears she was wild caught. We've looked for frogs legs on the net as we live in the quite an isolated area of North Wales. Trouble is you can only buy them in 10's or 12's and if she won't eat them god know what we will do with the rest, someone even said humans can eat them LOL. Anyways thanks again. |

Not sure, probably the internet. I'll keep an eye out for you- but can't you find a deli that sells frogs legs and freeze them yourselves? |
