Wilbur isn't eating again- it's been 4 weeks! He's so naughty 
What has made it worse is that at the York Reptile night I saw another hoggy that was the same year as Wilbur and she was at least 3-4 times bigger than he is! The other hoggy was born in February and Wilbur was born in June, but there is no way he'd grow that big in a few months. It has made me worry that is lack of enthusiasm for food is really stunting his growth  .
So I asked the hoggy's owner how she got her hoggies to eat and she said she uses amphibian wee. Apparently hoggys love the taste of mice that have been scented with urine from frogs. She says it never fails to get reluctant eaters going.
Now to the dilemma bit- since we've got two toads and a frog in the house- should I give them a little squeeze to get a batch of wee and hope that Wilbur will start eating again...
or... leave the poor 'phibs alone and try pilchard scenting again? Especially since I know Lewy will shout if he found out I had man-handled his toads.

They might do- it's not live is it. We need a code name for it though- like Hoggy appetite builder. Then only hoggy keepers will know what it really is  |

All the mice for all the snakies go on top of his faun/viv to defrost, he's just a picky sod! Mighty Alberto will have kaz's hand off if she tries to squeeze him. He's become a monster through Wilbur's fast- he's been eating all the leftover fuzzies. He ate the last one and has been buried for about a week, but he's back out on the hunt now. He'll be eating small children and hippos soon.

Have you tried leaving them by his faun/viv to defrost, so that he has a good long while to get the smell of it prior to you feeding?... you know what it's like whilst your waiting for Sunday dinner to cook!!.. or at least after warming it up (on top of radiator or similar) leave it right next to where he can smell for 5 mins or so... anticipation being the better part of summat....!!  |

I got told that or chicken soup when Nagini wasn't eating- didn't really work though .
I might try it on Wilbur- he must like some kind of food. |

Well Lewy pointed out that the toads might be dodgy to use because of the Bufotoxin, so I decided against squeezing them. Then Lewy dared me to try and pick the Mighty Alberto up and not loose a finger  ... so I gave up on that idea too.
Tried dipping his fuzzie in cod liver oil yesterday, but it didn't work. Might have to come around for some White's wee then |

I don't even have to squeeze my whites.... they like to pee on me anyways ... just pick the toadies up and put them on a tray on the floor an see if they will perform for you  I remember Kehllyr saying his whites peed on the kitchen floor... maybe its just a white's thing, and you need to get some of these little lovvies

urm with hog-t who now has more ticks than crosses on his record sheet and has put on a couple of grams we tried all the normal stuff with senting with no luck. but he took to pinkies on his own. and now eats three at once go him. squeeze the toads any way tho |

I vote give the frogs a squeeze and get amphibian wee all over yourself and see if Wilbur responds to that! |
