Posted - 20/02/2012 : 00:36:39 ive had my male and female hoggie for some time now. they were babies when i got them.
the male feeds on pinkies twice a week and the female is a little more fussy and tends to eat only once a week (sometimes on the rare chance twice) they are not losing weight and not too much of worrying me. but they dont seem to be growing. is this normal for hoggies ? They are kept seprate in small rubs to reduce risk, kept on aspen, their temps are fine etc :)

Posted - 20/02/2012 : 16:02:17 If you're managing to get your male to eat twice a week, you've got absolutely nothing to worry about. As for growth - they do grow fairly slowly, as hoggies are not very large snakes even when they're at adult size, but you'd need to be more specific about how long you've had your two, what their weight was when you first got them, and what it is now. They may have put a bit on even if they don't look much bigger. |
