Got a couple of hoggies at Rodbaston last November. Miss Piggy was a June 08 & she shed just before xmas. Kermit is a Sept 08 and i'm still waiting for him to shed. He's been eating on a regular basis & the temps are fine. Is it anything to worry about?
It's just with my young corns they more or less shed once a month.

That's great- we never seem to notice Wilbur going into shed, his colours don't seem to dull. We just woke up on Saturday and saw that Wilbur had gone hollow

Glad to put your mind at ease. That's the great thing about forums like these, there is generally someone who has gone through the same thing and is able to help out. Feel free to ask anything else you like in future. No matter how silly it may seem its always better to ask.

You should post some pics up, I remember Penfold was up a corner by the window on the back wall but couldn't tell you which room it was.

I was in a room with my back to the windows and a 6wk old baby sleeping occassionally under the table till he got hungry, then it was out to find his mum lol.

Gotta admit that's a relief to hear. Not sure who i got the snakes off of as it was my 1st reptile show (think i'm now addicted - only allowed to go to 1 this yr as will end up with way too many snakes as you can't go and not buy any thing). Miss piggy came ut the 1st room on the right after the entrance. Can't remember which room kermit came from. Miss piggy has a yellowish tinge to her background whereas kermit is more khaki. Gotta love the little cobras.

i got an 08 in september and he has only shed once

No nothing to worry about hognose tend to shed a lot less than other snakes, I've had 3 out of 21 shed this last week one of whom has been here since Sept 08 and hatched in May 08 only shedding once since she hatched prior to this recent one.

I brought about 4 hognose at Rodbastion a pair of believed mexican's - colour is different but photo's aren't showing the required facial scaling around the eye or across the nose so suspect they are just nice brick red/brown westerns - time will tell when I mate them to westerns. Non of my rodbaston purchases have shed yet 2 have gone into shed this weekend but the others no chance did you got them from Penfold?

Hi Bex... I've had Horace since early November, and he only shed just over a week ago.. I think I remember Mandie saying that her older girls don't shed that often, so probably nothing to worry about as long as they seem ok otherwise...

I tried looking for a female Hoggie at Rodbaston, but they only had other brown coloured ones and I wanted something that was slightly different colour if poss... Just missed two lovelies... wonder if it was you that had them.... lol... J

I don't own hoggies but it sounds as though they maybe just don't shed as often as other snakes.
Are they putting on weight OK?
