Hi guys and girlies,

I did have a hoggy for 6 yrs but sadly lost her on EASTER SUNDAY the petshop owner I know says her gaul bladder had burst and it was nothing I had done.

I think you get a good 20 years out of a hoggy, but that's if you're lucky. However good you care for a pet, they can still get disorders and diseases that you can't avoid. Just like us really- we could live up to 90 if we are lucky, but so many of us die younger for various unavaoidable reasons.

aaawww so sad... sorry to hear of your loss. Do you intend to get another?... a fair few for sale today at the IHS show at Rodbaston - various prices from £25 (which had all gone by the time I got there!!) to around £70.

How old do hoggies generally go on to?... my little one was only hatched in July, but he's a greedy little thing.
